UlrichsWeb

Are you looking for information on periodical?  Are you not sure where to look?  Atkin’s Library has the resources that can help!  We are pleased to announce that we have recently started a subscription to ProQuest UlrichsWeb!

What is Ulrichsweb?

Ulrichsweb is an easy to search source of detailed information on more than 300,000 periodicals (also called serials) of all types: academic and scholarly journals, e-journals, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and more.
What does it include?

Ulrichsweb covers more than 900 subject areas. Ulrich's records provide data points such as ISSN, publisher, language, subject, abstracting & indexing coverage, full-text database coverage, tables of contents, and reviews written by librarians.
What are the linking options?

If your organization has enabled linking options, you can also use UlrichsWeb to explore your library's catalog or other locations where your library subscribes to serials resources.(source)

PhilPapers

PhilPapers uses advanced trawling techniques and large-scale crowd-sourcing to monitor all sources of research content in philosophy, including journals, books, personal pages, and open access archives. Our index currently includes 1,798,467 research books and articles. Over 5,000 individuals have contributed content to our index.” (Source)

PhilPapers' index and its archive are integrated with the largest structured bibliography in the field. PhilPapers' structured bibliography organizes half a million entries into 5,111 topics at different levels of generality. Classification is maintained by a combination of automatic classification, crowd-sourcing, and curation work done by approximately 400 appointed academics.” (Source)

PhilPapers is an Open Access Archive, however, UNCC Atkins library recently became an institutional subscriber which allows our users to link out from the database to the library collection to find the full-text or, if the library does not have, request it through Inter-library Loan.
